Philips Zoom Teeth Whitening – St. Petersburg and Seffner Florida

Philips Zoom Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening Service Promotion

A question we hear from our patients at Dr. Weber’s St. Petersburg and Seffner dental offices, is what products do we offer for whitening teeth? Before we can respond, they blurt out “is it the one that celebrities use?” The answer is yes. Here at Kurt K. Weber, D.D.S., P.A., we offer Zoom whitening, both in-office and take-home trays.

As our #1 patient requested teeth whitening treatment, there are many reasons why they may want a brighter smile, whether it’s a wedding, graduations, parties or even self-confidence. The patients are often surprised by their results and quick to point out the difficultly of other off-the-shelf products.

Philips Zoom whitening is a teeth-bleaching procedure used throughout the world. Zoom uses professional grade 25% hydrogen peroxide gel that penetrates below the enamel, resulting up to 8 shades of improvement. Once applied to the surface of the teeth, an overhead lamp uses UV light to activate the gel allowing oxygen molecules to break the carbon bonds holding stains together.

Is Zoom! Whitening Right for You?

If you are interested in teeth whitening, call or visit our St. Petersburg or Seffner dental office. Dr. Weber will decide whether you’re a good candidate for Zoom whitening during the consultation and examination. There are many factors that determine whether in-office Zoom whitening is right for you, including oral hygiene habits, the current condition of your teeth, previous dental work and certain medications.

If the dentist decides that the in-office treatment is not recommended for you at this time, you still may be eligible for Zoom take-home trays. Zoom whitening take-home trays are custom-fit, allowing you to safely whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. However, Zoom is not recommended for children under 13 years of age or for women who are pregnant or nursing.

Visit our page on teeth whitening for additional information and again, call or visit our office to schedule an appointment.

Zoom! Procedure

A typical Zoom procedure lasts 60 – 90 minutes. A regular teeth cleaning is recommended prior to treatment, but the dentist will determine that during your examination. In preparation, a dental assistant will cover your lips and gums to protect the sensitive tissue leaving only the teeth exposed. After applying the professional grade hydrogen peroxide gel to the teeth, a Zoom chairside UV lamp is placed into position. Together, the light and gel break up stains and discoloration.

The Zoom process consists of four 15-minute sessions. During that time, you can relax and listen to music. After you have completed your last whitening session, a special fluoride gel is applied to reduce any sensitivity you might have had during treatment. For an additional cost, Philips Zoom offers take-home trays to extend the benefits of your treatment and help keep your teeth whiter.

Aftercare

TEEHT WHITENING TEST 1To extend the whitening effects of your Zoom treatment, it’s recommended to not drink or eat anything that will stain your teeth such as soda, coffee, marinara sauce, blueberries, etc. for 2 days following your treatment. Additionally, maintaining a good oral health, such as brushing and flossing and regular cleanings will help prevent stains from reforming.

If you have purchased the Zoom take-home trays, follow the instructions given to you by the dentist.

How much does Zoom! cost?

The average cost of Zoom whitening is $400 without the take-home trays. To maximize the results, it’s recommended to purchase the take-home trays which average an additional $250. This includes a custom whitening tray, molded to fit your teeth and the whitening gel. Unfortunately, Zoom whitening treatments are not covered by your dental insurance, but if you need financing CareCredit is here to help. (6 month payment period only)

Health Benefits

The benefits of Invisalign® along with straighter teeth can greatly increase your oral and overall health. Though having a better, more confident smile is often the reason most patients start treatment plans. They will also enjoy the benefits of healthier teeth and gums as they go hand in hand.

Crowding or spacing between the teeth can lead to swollen and red gums. When your teeth are properly aligned, the gums become more secure around the tooth and develop a stronger defense against gum disease and other periodontal problems. With Invisalign®, you will gradually and gently align your teeth with invisible buttons and trays without the unsightly look of traditional metal braces. Typically, you will change out your Invisalign® aligners with new ones once every 2 weeks.

Overall Health

Having good oral health can lead to a good overall health. The bacteria that causes tooth decay and gum disease can cause sores in the mouth, tender gums, bad breath and lead to more serious conditions such as, heart disease, diabetes or stroke.  Because daily oral hygiene is important to your health, Invisalign® aligners are removable. Thus, making brushing your teeth and flossing easier.

Properly aligned teeth will alleviate wear and tear on tooth enamel, jaw problems and improper bites such as, overbites, underbites, deep bites and open bites. Straight teeth can also correct speech, difficulties with chewing and increase your confidence with a beautiful smile. All these issues can be effectively treated with Invisalign®.

Invisalign® vs Metal Braces

With Invisalign® aligner trays, you can enjoy all their benefits. They’re invisible and removable. There is no discomfort from wires, no difficulty eating or problems with food getting caught in your braces. Here’s a quick comparison chart below.

Invisalign vs Metal Braces

Additional Benefits

  • Added layer of protection whether you’re hiking or playing sports
  • Protection from wear and tear such as, grinding your teeth when you’re sleeping
  • You can use the aligner trays to whiten your teeth

Clearly, Invisalign® has many pros to benefit from, but be sure to call or visit our St. Petersburg or Seffner office to schedule an appoint to see our dentist or ask our staff any questions. In some cases, Invisalign® may not always be the best solution for you. If so, Dr. Weber will determine the most effective treatment to give you “A Beautiful Smile for You!”

What does Invisalign cost?

A Testimony from Our Patient:

Before I started Invisalign at Dr. Weber’s St. Petersburg office I had been out of braces for 2 years. Unfortunately, my teeth started to move again, even though I was given a metal retainer. During my time in braces I had considerable wear and tear on my teeth due to grinding my teeth at night.

When I started my Invisalign case I was surprised on how little pain I had between my aligning trays. I was in treatment for 9 months and now wear a clear retainer at night which prevents me from grinding down my teeth after Dr. Weber had restored them. It’s been almost 10 years now and I often forget to wear my retainer but, my teeth have yet to move!
